Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 3, 2026

This policy covers the Ett app for iPhone and iPad and Ett on the web at ett.smond.studio. Ett is made by Smond AB, Sweden.

The short version: if you only use the app, your task stays on your device and we receive nothing. If you create a web account and link the app to it, we store what's needed to keep your task in step, and you can delete it at any time.

Using the app on its own

Your tasks are stored on your device, and the widget reads them from there. The app needs no account and sends nothing to Smond AB. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan the QR code that links the app to your web account. The scanning happens on your device, and no images are saved or sent anywhere.

What we store if you use Ett on the web

You sign in with Apple or Google. We then store:

Your account: your email address, your name if the sign-in service provides it, and your time zone.

Your tasks: what you write, the day it belongs to, when it was created, changed and completed, and whether it came from the web, a linked device or an AI assistant.

Linked devices: the device's name (such as “iPhone”), when it was linked and last seen, a security token that lets it sign in, and the push tokens that let us tell the app and widget when your task changes.

AI assistants, if you connect one: the assistant's name, and what it did and when, so you can review it in Settings.

We use this only to run Ett: to show your task, keep your devices in step and let you sign in. We don't sell it, advertise with it or use it for tracking.

Our silent push notifications contain no task text. They only tell your device that something has changed.

The website's hosting provider keeps basic visit statistics, such as pages viewed, referring site, device type and country. Our providers may also keep short-lived technical logs, which can include IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.

AI assistants

If you connect an AI assistant, you allow it to read, set, complete and reopen today's task. What you share with that assistant is also covered by its provider's privacy policy.

Who handles the data

We use a small number of service providers to run Ett on the web:

Lovable, Supabase and Cloudflare for hosting, the database and sign-in infrastructure.

Apple and Google for signing in, depending on which you choose.

Apple Push Notification service for delivering push notifications to linked devices.

Your account, tasks and device records are stored in a database in the EU, in Ireland. Where a provider processes personal data outside the EU/EEA, the transfer relies on safeguards such as the EU's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your account and tasks are kept until you delete your account. To delete it, sign in at ett.smond.studio and choose Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, tasks, linked devices and assistant history from our database. Copies may remain in our providers' backups for a limited time.

If you unlink a device, it can no longer sign in, and your tasks stay on it. Its record, including its push tokens, stays with your account until you delete the account or ask us to remove it.

You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to ett@smond.studio. Deleting the app removes the tasks stored on that device.

Your rights

Smond AB is the data controller for Ett on the web under the GDPR. We process your data because it's needed to provide the service you asked for. You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy, and object to or restrict how it's processed. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Children

Ett isn't directed at children under 13, and web accounts are not intended for them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
