For macOS

Focus one screen,
dim the rest

Fullscreen your active window and dim every other display, so distractions fade without turning your other screens off.

Requires macOS 14 or later · Free · Notarized by Apple

Everything you need, nothing you don't

A tiny, native menu bar app — no Dock icon, no background bloat.

One shortcut, instant focus

Fullscreen the frontmost window and dim the rest with a single customizable keyboard shortcut.

Dim it your way

Adjustable dim intensity and color — as subtle or as strong as you want.

Fully customizable shortcut

Single Screen detects your Mac's own "Toggle Full Screen" shortcut and suggests a sensible default that won't collide with it.

Clears itself automatically

Exit fullscreen however you like — Esc, the green button, a swipe, Mission Control — and the dim lifts immediately.

Launch at login

Set it once and Single Screen is ready the moment you sign in.

Lives in your menu bar

No Dock icon, no window to manage — just a quiet menu bar item.

See it in action

A tiny menu bar app, a permission explained up front, and a couple of settings -- that's the whole surface area.

Runs entirely on your Mac

Single Screen uses the same Accessibility mechanism as the green fullscreen button — it triggers real native macOS fullscreen, not a fake borderless window. It never reads window content or keystrokes, and never sends any data anywhere.
